Here it is the dog days of summer and it is too hot to ride much. Thankfully, this is when the bike companies release their 2013 models – at least we can check out the cool new bikes. A prime example – Giant is releasing a 29er version of its Trance model.
The Trance X 29er is a 5 inch Trail bike that promises to blend “stability and control with sharp handling, unrivaled suspension performance and light weight.” Giant uses it’s own suspension design they call Maestro. In addition to beefy, oversized tubing in all the important places, it features internal cable routing and routing for a dropper post. A major plus in our book, because we are big proponents of dropper posts, is the fact that the 0 and 1 versions come with Giant’s dropper post, the Contact Switch.
No prices yet, but it comes in three levels – Trance X 29er 0 at the top with Shimano XT level components and two less expensive versions below it. Based on the specs these bikes, especially the Trance X 29er 2, look to be on the more affordable side of the full suspension range. Head over to Giant for all the details.
